Multisport series
Helix Wetsuit to 1st male and female
This year we are proud to announce the blue seventy multisport series. To qualify you need to complete 3 out of the possible 5 duathlon or triathlon events listed on the left and you will automatically be listed in the series standings

DERBY TRIATHLON is aimed at all levels of fitness and ability, whether it's your first triathlon or you are the next Olympic hopeful.  Last year over 43% of the field were new to triathlon.  You can enter as an individual and complete all three disciplines on your own, the relay event with friends or colleagues and enjoy the race as a team or the corporate event where each team member completes the full triathlon.
Triathlon is a multi-discipline event where people compete against the clock and each other. Swimming, cycling and running with no break except for the transition (this is a quick pit stop to change for the next discipline).

The swim
To start the event you must swim 16 lengths of the-25m indoor heated swimming pool (any stroke is fine) and then you make your way to the transition area and prepare for the bike ride.

The bike
After completing the swim you will then jump on your bike for l8K around Derbyshire's country lanes. The route is a single lap, which is mostly flat with a couple of gentle hills.
The Run
Once the bike has been completed you then return to transition for the run, this is an out and back 5K run, through Etwall.

The individual triathlon
This is open to anyone over the age of 15 (on 31/12/06). You must complete all three disciplines with no outside assistance. Your time will be taken from when you start the swim to when you finish the run.

The relay triathlon
Each member of the team completes one discipline.
The first member swims-400m and runs out to tag the cyclist who then continues on the 18K bike, on their return the cyclist tags the runner who goes on to complete the 5K run to finish the event.

The corporate triathlon
To take part in this event all three competitors must work for the same company or organisation and each person must complete the full triathlon. You will be given an individual as well as a team time.

Infomation for beginners
Last year over 50% of the field had never completed a triathlon. All you need is a swimming costume or trunks, goggles (not compulsory), a bike (road or mountain bike as long as it is in roadworthy condition),an approved cycle helmet (compulsory) and a pair of trainers.
So go on give it a tri? You will be given full instructions before the event and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Race facilities
The centre has ample parking with toilets, full changing facilities, showers and refreshments. There is a viewing area above the pool for spectators, there will be trade stands including our sponsor's Total Fitness Nottingham and High Five and the opportunity for a pre and post race massage.

Start times
Your start time will be determined by the swim time on your entry form. Please be as accurate as possible so that you will be swimming with people of similar ability with faster competitors setting off later in the day.

Race rules
The event will be held under the rules of the British Triathlon Association. As always, your bicycle must be in roadworthy condition and an approved cycle helmet must be worn. A BTA referee will be present throughout the day.

Pre and post race massage
A Massage service will be available for either before the event or after.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded in many categories including; Relay teams, Corporate teams, Beginners, Juniors and many more.
All competitors will receive a finishers tee shirt.
