Venue
The Ashbourne Duathlon is set in the scenic countryside of the Derby shire Peak District. Carsington Water is situated off the B5035 between Ashbourne and Wirksworth.
Carsington Water is an excellent venue with plenty of car parking, numerous shops and an on site restaurant (which provides a superb viewing area for spectators) offering hot meals, snacks and refreshments. For the children - a great outdoor play area.
Run 12K
The first run is an undulating circular route around the resevoir, most of the course is traffic free on country tracks and footpaths.
There is one small stretch of road where you run against the traffic and competitors are advised to take extra caution.

Bike 40K
This will take you on a loop through the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District on an undulating course with a challenging climb towards Middleton Top. The route will be marshalled and signposted throughout but extra care should be taken on some of the steeper descents.  A low gear may be required for the less able cyclist.

Run 4K
After taking in the sights on your bike, you will head out onto the fast, flat out and back final run over the dam wall for the final run.
